The all-new Lexus ES launched its pre-sales on March 20, starting with the ES300h hybrid variant priced from RMB 308,800. Buyers can opt for a Comfort Co-Pilot Package worth RMB 12,000 or a Multi-Sensory Premium Package valued at RMB 30,000. Based on the next-generation design unveiled at last year’s Shanghai Auto Show, the new ES features a closed-off front grille, split-type headlights, and a full-width taillight. It measures 5,140 mm in length, 1,920 mm in width, and 1,555 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2,950 mm. The interior has been completely redesigned, featuring a dual-screen setup, an electronic gear selector, and numerous touch-sensitive controls—traditional physical buttons have been eliminated. Standard equipment includes Level 2 driver-assistance systems, a Mark Levinson audio system, a head-up display (HUD), and ventilated/heated seats. Powering the hybrid model is a combination of a 2.0L engine and an electric motor, delivering a combined output of 145 kW and achieving a fuel consumption of just 4.39 L/100 km. Later this year, Lexus will also introduce all-electric variants—the ES 350e and ES 500e—both built on the GA-K platform, with the ES 500e featuring Lexus’ DIRECT4 all-wheel-drive system. The outgoing ES200 will continue to be sold alongside the new model.
