At the 4th China Performance and Custom Vehicle Summit held on March 21, Li Jianjun, Assistant Secretary-General of the Automotive Branch of the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade, noted that China's automotive aftermarket modification industry is undergoing transformative shifts in consumption patterns, policy support, and ecosystem development. Generation Z has emerged as the primary consumer force, driving automobiles to evolve from mere transportation tools into vehicles for personal expression and social interaction. For the first time, the central government has officially designated automotive modification as a key sector for cultivation, with nine ministries jointly issuing a document to support the growth of the automotive aftermarket. Meanwhile, new cross-sector business models—such as "modification + cultural tourism" and "modification + motorsports"—are rapidly taking shape. Li Jianjun urged the industry to uphold standardization, innovation-driven development, and open collaboration to build a diverse and symbiotic modification ecosystem and seize the new opportunities presented by electrification and intelligent connectivity.
