Volkswagen's all-new all-electric SUV, the ID. Tiguan, was recently spotted undergoing road testing by overseas media outlet CarBuzz. The vehicle features extensive exterior revisions—despite being positioned as a mid-cycle refresh of the ID.4, its overall design approaches that of an all-new generation. The ID. Tiguan ditches the ID.4’s rounded styling in favor of sharp, continuous character lines running from front to rear. The lower door sections now feature crisp creases, complemented by a redesigned front bumper and a hidden full-width LED light bar. At the rear, it sports C-shaped taillights and a new spoiler. In terms of naming strategy, Volkswagen is repositioning its EV lineup: the ID.4 will be gradually phased out and replaced by the "ID. Tiguan." The vehicle’s entire electric powertrain system will also receive comprehensive upgrades, including next-generation electric motors and higher-density batteries. As a result, performance, range, and fast-charging capabilities are all expected to surpass those of the current ID.4—which, in its all-wheel-drive version, delivers 335 horsepower and an estimated range of approximately 423 kilometers.
