A Ford salesperson shared a little-known key fob feature on TikTok: when the vehicle is locked, pressing the "unlock" button twice in quick succession and then holding it down a third time will automatically lower all windows with a single command. Known as "global open," this feature is designed to quickly ventilate and cool the cabin in hot weather. Some models also allow raising the windows by holding down the "lock" button, though not all Ford vehicles have this function enabled by default—it may need to be manually activated through the vehicle's settings menu. The video has garnered over 210,000 views, with many users commenting that they successfully used the feature, while others reported it didn't work on their specific models. Notably, similar functionality has been available on older models from multiple brands for years.
