On March 20, GOVY AirCab—the first mass-production multirotor flying car developed by Gaoyu Technology, a subsidiary of GAC Group—successfully completed its inaugural flight demonstration in the core area of Guangzhou’s Haixinsha Island. The vehicle has already passed rigorous tests including bird-strike resistance, emergency landing, and extreme temperature performance, and the first prototype is scheduled to roll off the production line at Guangzhou’s factory in May. To date, the company has received over 2,000 pre-orders. Priced under RMB 1.68 million, the GOVY AirCab features aerospace-grade carbon fiber materials (comprising more than 90% of its structure), resulting in a weight reduction of over 30%. It is primarily designed for low-altitude tourism and urban air mobility. The vehicle supports Level 4 autonomous driving, offers ultra-fast charging (recharging from 50% to 100% in under 15 minutes within a 25-minute window), and is equipped with 5G connectivity, an intelligent assistant, an ambient fragrance system, and redundant flight control systems for enhanced safety. The product has now entered the airworthiness certification phase, with full certification expected by the end of 2026, followed by the start of mass production and customer deliveries.
