A travel blogger, @embraeric, recently shared his experience on TikTok: he had booked a Jeep Wrangler through Hertz, but was handed a GMC Savana cargo van when picking up the vehicle. He bluntly stated, “This is exactly why I don’t rent from Hertz,” and joked that he’d now “have to go to church alone.” The video has garnered over 146,000 views. According to Hertz’s website, unless otherwise specified, reservations typically guarantee only the vehicle class, not a specific make or model. The comments section quickly filled with similar stories—some users reported encountering the same issue with companies like Enterprise and Budget, while others mentioned receiving complimentary upgrades instead. Several commenters recommended alternative platforms like Turo, claiming they reliably deliver the exact vehicle booked. As of now, Hertz has not responded to the incident.
