BYD recently unveiled a new type of ultra-fast charging station at its headquarters in Pingshan, featuring a gas-station-like layout that allows vehicles to enter in an orderly manner and complete the entire charging process autonomously, offering a more efficient and convenient experience. Equipped with BYD’s second-generation Blade Battery and integrated energy storage and charging technology, these stations can fully charge a vehicle in just nine minutes under normal temperatures. Additionally, they include amenities such as cafes and lounge areas to enhance users’ waiting experience. To date, BYD has built 4,885 ultra-fast charging stations across 291 cities and plans to expand this network to 20,000 stations by the end of the year, including 2,000 stations along highways. The first batch of 1,000 highway stations will be operational before the May Day holiday, helping establish a comprehensive urban charging network with stations every 3 to 6 kilometers and significantly alleviating range anxiety for new energy vehicle owners.
