During a live stream on March 23, Lei Jun addressed why NIO’s Li Bin and Great Wall Motor’s Wei Jianjun did not attend Xiaomi’s new SU7 launch event on March 19. He explained that Li Bin was attending a forum in Shanghai that day, while Wei Jianjun was unable to attend due to Great Wall Motor’s Global Supplier Conference. Lei Jun expressed special thanks to both executives for their support, emphasizing that as a newcomer to the automotive industry, it hasn’t been easy for Xiaomi to earn recognition from its peers. Despite their absence, the launch event was attended by numerous senior executives from other automakers, including Wang Chuanfu of BYD, Zhang Jianyong of BAIC, Li Xiang of Li Auto, He Xiaopeng of XPeng, and Wang Hui of Avatr. Lei Jun stated that Xiaomi hopes to work hand-in-hand with all industry peers to advance the development of the sector.
