Sinopec Reaffirms Ambition to Become China's Leading Hydrogen Company

At the 2025 Annual Results Presentation held on March 23, Sinopec Chairman Hou Qijun stated that the company will firmly advance its strategic goal of becoming "China's No. 1 hydrogen energy company." In recent years, Sinopec has accelerated its deployment in the hydrogen industry, focusing on large-scale applications of green hydrogen in industrial decarbonization and transportation, and comprehensively promoting R&D and implementation across the entire hydrogen energy value chain. By building large-scale green electricity-to-hydrogen projects, hydrogen refueling stations, and other infrastructure, the company is driving the development of enterprises engaged in hydrogen equipment R&D and manufacturing. Looking ahead to the "15th Five-Year Plan" period (2026–2030), Sinopec will continue adhering to the principle of "technology first, followed by industrial scaling" to lead the high-quality development of China's hydrogen industry.
