Huawei recently launched the Whale Battery Platform 3.0, focusing on intelligence and digitalization and introducing five core technological upgrades. For the first time, the platform incorporates a "battery black box," inspired by aviation black box concepts, featuring triple-redundant communication and power supply systems integrated with NearLink technology to enable 24/7 hazard monitoring and fully traceable data. Additionally, the platform enhances battery sealing and protection capabilities, equipped with dual water-intrusion and leakage detection systems that support intelligent early warnings. Impact resistance at the battery base has doubled while maintaining both lightweight design and high strength. In terms of fast charging, the platform adopts a gradient uniform-temperature liquid cooling plate technology that minimizes temperature differences among cells, thereby improving charging efficiency and battery lifespan. Moreover, through device-cloud collaboration and an upgraded BMS (Battery Management System) software, a new insulation monitoring technology can precisely identify fault sources, ensuring round-the-clock battery safety. To date, vehicles under Huawei’s Harmony Intelligent Mobility brand equipped with this platform have delivered over 1.3 million units, utilizing approximately 150 million battery cells, and have maintained a “zero spontaneous combustion” safety record.
