Automotive supplier FORVIA HELLA announced it has developed and begun mass production of the world’s first Front Phygital Shield for the all-new, fully electric BMW iX3, set to launch in 2026. This module integrates lighting, sensors, and digital interaction capabilities, enhancing the vehicle’s aerodynamic performance while defining the front-end design language of the iX3—the first model built on BMW’s Neue Klasse platform. The innovative front-end module was developed and manufactured at FORVIA HELLA’s Global Lighting Technology Center in Ljubljana, Slovenia, marking a pivotal step in the evolution of automotive front ends from traditional structures toward intelligent, integrated systems.
