According to the latest employment data released by Tsinghua University for its 2025 graduates, BYD ranked second among private enterprises and stands as the only new energy vehicle manufacturer to break into the top tier. In addition to Tsinghua, graduates from other leading engineering universities—including Shanghai Jiao Tong University, the University of Science and Technology of China, and Harbin Institute of Technology—have also increasingly chosen BYD as a core career destination. Wang Chuanfu, Chairman of BYD, stated that disruptive technological innovation relies on a strong R&D team. From 2023 to 2025, BYD hired more than 50,000 fresh graduates, with nearly 80% of these positions in R&D roles and 70% held by master’s or doctoral degree holders. Through a “mentorship plus project-based” training system, many of the company’s senior executives and key technical personnel have risen from entry-level graduate hires. As of the end of 2025, BYD had filed over 71,000 global patent applications and secured more than 42,000 granted patents. Core technologies such as Blade Battery and the DM-i Super Hybrid system were all developed by this highly skilled R&D team.
