Tesla plans to launch an upgraded Standard Range version of the Model 3 in the Chinese market, produced at its Shanghai Gigafactory, with a starting price expected to fall below RMB 200,000. The new model features a 52.9 kWh battery pack, delivering a CLTC-rated range of 480 kilometers. To reduce costs, this version eliminates approximately 20 features compared to the current model, including certain comfort and convenience functions as well as adjustments to powertrain performance. This move aims to appeal to a broader base of mainstream consumers and further strengthen Tesla's competitiveness in China's new energy vehicle market.
