Fresh spy shots have emerged of Mercedes-Benz's all-new compact G-Class SUV—internally nicknamed the "Little G." The vehicle retains the iconic boxy silhouette of its larger sibling, featuring flared wheel arches and a flat roofline, but in a more compact package. The new model is expected to measure approximately 4.4 meters in length—about 12 centimeters shorter than the standard G-Class—and will sit slightly lower with reduced ground clearance, yet still offer genuine off-road capability thanks to an all-new platform. The prototype captured in these spy photos appears to be an all-electric variant, though Mercedes may also introduce a hybrid version powered by a 1.5-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine, paired as standard with all-wheel drive. Notably, the spare tire traditionally mounted on the tailgate has been replaced by a storage compartment, and the rear features a side-hinged tailgate design. Additionally, Mercedes plans to launch a four-door convertible G-Class in the second half of 2027, potentially including a high-performance AMG G63 variant. Positioned as a more accessible entry point into the G-Class family, the "Little G" is expected to significantly lower the ownership barrier and help drive record-breaking sales for the iconic SUV lineup.
