Recently, the first real-world images of Mercedes-Benz's all-new compact G-Class—internally codenamed "Baby G"—have been revealed. The new model carries forward the iconic G-Class design language, featuring a boxy silhouette, flared wheel arches, and a flat roofline, along with a side-hinged tailgate at the rear, delivering a rugged overall appearance. With a length of approximately 4.4 meters, it is notably more compact than the standard G-Class (4.7 meters), positioning it primarily for urban driving scenarios. The currently revealed variant is fully electric; however, a plug-in hybrid version powered by a 1.5-liter turbocharged engine will follow. All variants will come standard with all-wheel drive to preserve the G-Class’s off-road heritage. Additionally, Mercedes-Benz plans to further expand the G-Class family, including a four-door soft-top convertible and a high-performance AMG G63 variant, both expected to enter production in the second half of 2027.
