At the "Forum on Innovative Development of Cross-border Data Flows," held during the 2026 Zhongguancun Forum Annual Conference, the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers (CAAM) and the Beijing Representative Office of the European Automobile Manufacturers' Association (ACEA) signed a Memorandum of Understanding titled "Promoting Cross-border Automotive Data Flows to Advance High-quality Industrial Development." Both parties will adhere to the principles of leveraging complementary strengths, sharing resources, and achieving mutual benefit and win-win cooperation. They will enhance policy dialogue and promote innovative applications of digital technologies in cross-border automotive data flows, fostering constructive interaction between government and industry. Moving forward, both sides will utilize this mechanism to advance compliant data flows across the entire automotive industry value chain, strengthen Sino-European resource coordination, balance industrial development with data security, support Beijing’s efforts to become a global hub for automotive innovation, and optimize the business environment for cross-border data flows.
