At the recently held 3rd New Energy Vehicle (NEV) Aftermarket Modification Industry Summit, the NEV Modification Industry Alliance was officially established. The alliance was jointly initiated by eight authoritative institutions and leading enterprises, including the Central Automotive Enterprises Digital Collaborative Innovation Platform, with the aim of advancing five core initiatives: standard formulation, technological R&D, commercialization of research outcomes, and more. Concurrently, the summit released the "China NEV Modification Industry Development White Paper 2026," which noted that while the industry has already formed a complete value chain, it still faces challenges such as inconsistent standards. Experts forecast that during the upcoming "15th Five-Year Plan" period (2026–2030), the aftermarket modification market could reach RMB 400 billion, with 2026 potentially marking the inaugural year of significant industry growth. Attendees emphasized that specialized segments—such as underbody armor and camera monitor systems (CMS)—are emerging as new hotspots for compliant and lightweight vehicle modifications. They further projected that the industry will evolve through three distinct phases: compliance-driven foundation building, integrated development, and blue-ocean market expansion.
