At the "Forum on Innovative Development of Cross-border Data Flows," held as part of the 2026 Zhongguancun Forum Annual Conference, the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers (CAAM) and the Beijing Representative Office of the European Automobile Manufacturers' Association (ACEA) signed a Memorandum of Understanding titled "Promoting Cross-border Automotive Data Flows to Advance High-quality Industry Development." Both parties will adhere to the principles of leveraging complementary strengths, sharing resources, and achieving mutual benefit and win-win cooperation. They will enhance policy dialogue and promote innovative applications of digital technologies in cross-border automotive data flows, fostering constructive interaction between regulatory authorities and the industry. Moving forward, both sides will utilize this framework to facilitate compliant data flows across the entire automotive industry value chain, strengthen Sino-European resource integration, support Beijing’s development into a global hub for automotive innovation, optimize the cross-border data business environment, and advance industrial growth in tandem with data security.
