New Cars This Week: VW ID. UNYX Pre-sales, BYD Song Ultra EV Launch, Updated Mercedes-Maybach S-Class, Leapmotor A10 Debut

Multiple new models made their debut this week: Volkswagen Anhui’s all-electric mid-to-large SUV, the VW ID. UNYX 08, has opened for pre-orders at a price range of RMB 239,900–299,900. Built on an 800V platform, it offers a CLTC-rated range of 630–730 km, comes standard with XPeng’s ADAS solution across all trims, and features air suspension and Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8295P chip. BYD officially launched the Song Ultra EV, starting at RMB 151,900, available in two variants with CLTC ranges of 605 km and 710 km. It is equipped with BYD’s second-generation Blade Battery and includes practical interior features like a “bed mode,” with an optional LiDAR-enabled advanced driver-assistance system. In the luxury segment, the updated Mercedes-Maybach S-Class received a mid-cycle refresh, enhancing its intelligent features and rear-seat experience. Upgrades include the new MB.OS infotainment system and urban navigation pilot assist, with powertrain options spanning V8 and V12 engines. Additionally, Leapmotor introduced the A10, a compact all-electric SUV priced from RMB 65,800 to 86,800. Standard features include LiDAR and the Snapdragon 8295 chip, with a maximum CLTC range of 505 km, positioning it as a high-value option packed with smart tech.
