Buick has officially launched a new variant in its GL8 PHEV lineup—the Lushang Comfort DG Edition—with an official starting price of RMB 229,900. Positioned as a mid-to-large plug-in hybrid MPV, the model is equipped with a 24.4 kWh lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery pack, delivering a CLTC-rated all-electric range of 142 km. Compared to other variants, it features a slightly reduced battery capacity, further lowering the entry price point. The exterior retains Buick’s PURE Design family language and rides on 18-inch alloy wheels. It measures 5,219 mm in length, 1,878 mm in width, and 1,807 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 3,088 mm. Inside, the cabin features dual 12.3-inch displays and supports Apple CarPlay connectivity. Powering the vehicle is Buick’s “Zhenlong” plug-in hybrid system, which combines a 1.5T engine featuring deep Miller cycle technology with Ultium-standard batteries. The system pairs a P1+P3 dual-motor electric drive unit with a two-speed DHT transmission. The electric motor delivers a maximum output of 160 kW and peak torque of 330 N·m, achieving a system efficiency as high as 97.8%.
