A Honda owner shared a harrowing experience on TikTok: shortly after getting a tire rotation, the vehicle’s right rear wheel suddenly detached while driving. The video shows not only the missing tire but also the exposed wheel hub and a partially torn rear bumper. Commenters called it “every mechanic’s worst nightmare” and urged the owner to immediately sue the repair shop involved. This isn’t an isolated incident—similar cases have been reported by users on Reddit and automotive forums, often caused by improperly tightened lug nuts during service. Experts emphasize that while tire rotations are meant to enhance safety and extend tire life, improper installation can lead to serious accidents. Professional recommendations include using a torque wrench to tighten lug nuts in a star pattern and rechecking them after driving 50 to 100 miles. Neither the Honda owner nor the automaker has responded to the incident so far.
