In a popular TikTok video, automotive influencer Brenner warned that placing the front license plate on the dashboard—though seemingly convenient—poses a hidden danger. He explained that during a sudden collision or hard braking, the metal plate can become airborne due to inertia and potentially impale the driver’s neck, causing severe or even fatal injuries. The video has already garnered over 700,000 views. While some vehicle owners temporarily place the plate inside the car to avoid drilling holes and damaging the bodywork, this “temporary fix” often becomes a prolonged habit. Brenner emphasized that any unsecured object inside a vehicle can turn into a dangerous projectile during a crash, urging drivers to use proper mounting brackets or install plates correctly—and not to risk serious consequences for the sake of minor convenience.
