Geely Auto recently announced the integration of its engineering and R&D resources in Europe, establishing "Geely Technology Europe" by merging its R&D teams in Gothenburg, Sweden, and Frankfurt, Germany into a single entity. This move aims to shorten global vehicle time-to-market, with the goal of reducing the launch interval between new models in China and overseas markets to less than six months. The new company will focus on software-defined vehicles and electric platform development, coordinating brands such as Zeekr and Lynk & Co, while strengthening collaboration with Geely’s China-based R&D Institute to enable synchronized development across multiple markets. Geely also outlined three strategic priorities: developing globally shared vehicle architectures, locally adapting products for regional markets, and expanding software capabilities in intelligent driving and AI-powered cockpit systems. The company plans to double the number of vehicle programs led by its European operations by 2027. All development activities will comply with European data security and cybersecurity standards.
