On March 30, Lei Jun, founder of Xiaomi, posted a message commemorating the fifth anniversary of the company's official announcement to enter the automotive industry. Over the past five years, Xiaomi has invested more than RMB 40 billion in its car business, delivering over 600,000 vehicles in total. Of these, the SU7 series accounted for 380,000 units, making it the best-selling premium all-electric sedan priced above RMB 200,000 in 2025—surpassing the Tesla Model 3 and reaching 1.6 times, 2 times, and 3 times the sales volumes of the BMW 3 Series, Mercedes-Benz C-Class, and Audi A4L, respectively. Lei Jun highlighted three major milestones: the SU7 Ultra prototype set a new lap record for electric vehicles at the Nürburgring Nordschleife, ranking among the world’s top three; Xiaomi was invited to design the VGT concept car for GT racing, drawing international attention; and the initial SU7 model received over 80,000 firm orders within 24 hours of its launch, becoming the segment sales leader in less than two years on the market.
