On March 30, Changan Automobile globally debuted its Blue Whale Super Power Hybrid Technology, claiming that its blue-plated sedans now achieve urban fuel consumption in the "2L era" (specifically 2.98 L/100 km) and blue-plated SUVs enter the "3L era" (3.98 L/100 km). The system features a 500-bar ultra-high-pressure direct-injection hybrid engine with a thermal efficiency approaching 45%. It is paired with a 3V high-flux hybrid electric drive, delivering motor efficiency exceeding 98%, a maximum speed of 20,000 rpm, and peak power output of 180 kW. The battery supports a 50C discharge rate and 80 kW discharge power, and integrates AI-powered intelligent energy management and a cloud-based early-warning system. The vehicle accelerates from 0 to 60 km/h in just 3.59 seconds, with an initial response time as quick as 0.29 seconds. Changan plans to successively launch Blue Whale Super Power hybrid, plug-in hybrid, and range-extended models, ultimately extending this technology across its entire lineup of conventional fuel-powered vehicles.
