In its latest "Q&A with Netizens" session, Xiaomi Auto revealed that the new-generation SU7 has been specially enhanced to better protect female occupants during safety development. In addition to standard crash tests using a 177 cm male dummy, Xiaomi has introduced a small-stature female dummy that more accurately reflects real-world female body dimensions, with a particular focus on optimizing critical design elements such as airbag deployment logic. This female dummy is equipped with sensors positioned according to female skeletal characteristics, especially around the hip and pubic regions, to evaluate the risk of abdominal injuries caused by seatbelt slippage. The testing covers all core collision scenarios defined by C-NCAP and C-IASI, including frontal, offset, and side impacts, with female dummies placed in the driver’s seat, front passenger seat, and rear seats to comprehensively collect data. Xiaomi also stated that the entire YU7 lineup will adopt the same safety standards and invited users to visit stores for firsthand experience.
