Toyota Motor Corporation has signed a non-binding Memorandum of Understanding to join cellcentric, the fuel cell joint venture established by the Volvo Group and Daimler Truck, as an equal shareholder. The three parties will collaborate in fuel cell technology, with Toyota contributing complementary technologies and expertise to the joint venture. Upon completion of the transaction, cellcentric will continue to operate as an independent entity, while the three companies maintain their independent and competitive positions in their respective other business areas. This collaboration aims to accelerate the development and commercialization of fuel cell technology for heavy-duty commercial vehicles.
