On March 27, the Next Generation Vehicle Promotion Center, an agency under Japan's Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI), announced a revised version of the "Clean Energy Vehicle Introduction and Promotion Subsidy (CEV Subsidy)" policy, effective April 1. Under the new guidelines, buyers of eligible new-energy vehicles can receive subsidies of up to 1.3 million yen (approximately RMB 56,200). The subsidy primarily targets domestically produced Japanese models such as the Toyota bZ4X, Honda e, Lexus UX300e, and RZ300e. Notably, the Tesla Model Y and Model 3 are also eligible for a subsidy of 1.27 million yen. The policy aims to reduce consumers' vehicle purchase costs, accelerate the adoption of new-energy vehicles, and support carbon reduction and sustainable development goals.
