The 2027 Mercedes-Benz GLS receives a comprehensive upgrade. While retaining the current model’s silhouette, it adopts the brand’s latest design language, featuring larger three-pointed-star LED headlights and taillights similar to those on the E-Class. Inside, it debuts the new MBUX Superscreen system—comprising three separate displays—while preserving physical buttons to balance cutting-edge technology with practicality. Under the hood, the GLS 450 continues with its 3.0-liter turbocharged inline-six engine, while the GLS 580 swaps in the same flat-plane-crank V8 found in the S-Class—a move Mercedes says is aimed at meeting future emissions regulations. The most notable addition is its standard “cloud-connected” air suspension system, which scans road conditions 1,000 times per second and uploads data to the cloud. By leveraging crowdsourced information, the system can anticipate upcoming road surfaces and proactively adjust suspension firmness for enhanced ride comfort. Though not a complete redesign, this update significantly boosts the GLS’s overall competitiveness.
