SAIC Volkswagen has recently launched the pre-sale of its first extended-range SUV, the ID. ERA9X, in Shenzhen, with a starting pre-sale price of RMB 329,800. The vehicle is equipped with the EA211 EVO II extended-range powertrain, which achieved a fuel consumption of just 4.57 L/100 km during real-world testing on the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau—a new Guinness World Record. It offers two battery options: a 51.1 kWh lithium iron phosphate (LFP) pack and a 65.2 kWh ternary lithium battery, delivering a maximum CLTC all-electric range of 406 km and a combined range exceeding 1,650 km. In terms of intelligent features, the ID. ERA9X is fitted with LiDAR and debuts SAIC Volkswagen’s “Xingyun Intelligent Driving Assistant,” supporting point-to-point Navigation on Autopilot (NOA) and full-scenario automated parking. The cabin integrates nine displays, including a 15.6-inch dual-screen setup in the front and a 21.4-inch ceiling-mounted rear-seat screen, with multi-screen interaction and Carlog dashcam functionality. For comfort, the ID. ERA9X comes standard across all trims with a zero-gravity front passenger seat and dynamically adjustable second-row seats, upholstered in Nappa leather and high-resilience foam. Combined with a 3,070 mm wheelbase, it delivers a class-leading spacious interior experience.
