Mercedes-Benz today unveiled the mid-cycle refreshes of the GLE, GLE Coupe SUV, GLE 53 plug-in hybrid, and GLS. The company describes this update as a "comprehensive upgrade," featuring approximately 3,000 newly added or optimized components throughout the vehicles. Exterior updates include a larger front grille, standard illuminated three-pointed star emblem (with optional illuminated surround), headlights incorporating a "starry" lighting signature, and slimmer taillights with three-dimensional star patterns. Inside, all models now come standard with the MBUX Superscreen system comprising three 12.3-inch displays. The center console and air vents have been redesigned, and customers can choose from three new interior trim options and a new steering wheel design. In terms of powertrains, the U.S.-spec GLE will be offered with a 2.0L turbo, 3.0L turbo, 4.0L twin-turbo V8, and a plug-in hybrid variant. The GLE Coupe is exclusively equipped with a 375-horsepower 3.0L turbo engine. The AMG GLE 53 plug-in hybrid delivers a combined output of 577 horsepower and supports 60 kW fast charging. The GLS receives concurrent upgrades to its 3.0L and 4.0L turbo engines, with a GLS 63 model to follow later. All refreshed models are equipped with the Level 2+ MB.Drive Assist Pro advanced driver-assistance system.
