A man recently exposed on TikTok that after his wife’s Cadillac had its tires replaced at Mavis Discount Tire, the shop incorrectly repaired the stabilizer bar link, causing persistent unusual noises from the vehicle. An inspection by a third-party mechanic revealed that Mavis had failed to properly tighten the part. The man requested reimbursement of $111 for the diagnostic fee but was repeatedly delayed. He eventually confronted staff in person at the store, prompting the manager to finally pay the amount owed—though he reportedly used profanities while telling the customer to leave. The video sparked widespread online discussion, with many criticizing the service quality of national quick-service auto chains and urging support for local repair shops. According to the Better Business Bureau (BBB), Mavis has received over 1,500 complaints in the past three years, some involving similar repair disputes. Mavis has not yet responded to this incident.
