On April 1, Dongfeng Honda held a general manager meeting to announce that Nobuaki Tsuchiya has officially assumed the role of General Manager of the company. The event was attended by Chinese executives and the Japanese expatriate management team. Executive Deputy General Manager Cao Dongjie welcomed Tsuchiya’s appointment, expressing expectations that he will lead the company in seizing opportunities amid industry transformation and accelerate its electrification strategy and market expansion. Tsuchiya stated that his top priorities will be ensuring the company’s stable operations and continuously meeting customer expectations, emphasizing that profitability is the fundamental baseline for long-term corporate development. He plans to strengthen collaboration with Chinese management and frontline employees to drive efficient business operations. Tsuchiya joined Honda R&D Co., Ltd. in 2001 and has held positions at Honda’s headquarters in Japan as well as in Guangzhou, accumulating extensive experience in strategic planning and market operations. His predecessor, Takehiro Watanabe, assumed the role of General Manager in January 2023.
