DENZA, BYD’s premium new energy vehicle brand, recently rolled out a major OTA update for its Z9 and Z9 GT models. Announced by DENZA General Manager Li Hui on April 2, the upgrade—though lacking a disclosed version number—delivers over ten new features and optimizations across multiple domains, including intelligent driving, smart cockpit, vehicle-home connectivity, and in-car entertainment. A key highlight is the upgrade of the "God’s Eye" advanced intelligent driving system to version 5.0. This iteration introduces an end-to-end large model based on reinforcement learning for the first time, enabling deep integration of perception, decision-making, and control. It offers enhanced self-evolution capabilities and a more human-like driving style. Functionally, it debuts “Custom Parking Space Selection,” allowing users to freely drag a parking frame within the 360° camera view to initiate automated parking. It also adds “Highway Emergency Stop Assist”: if the system detects that the driver has kept both hands off the steering wheel for an extended period during highway or expressway navigation, it will automatically decelerate and safely pull over while activating hazard warnings. Additionally, it supports complex maneuvers like “Multi-Step Reversing U-turns in Narrow Roads” under assisted driving mode. In the smart cockpit, the DiLink system receives a UI refresh with intelligent auto-split screen functionality and dynamic background adjustments based on real-time ambient lighting. A new “Multi-Screen Sync Login” feature lets all in-car displays log into the same account via a single QR code scan on the central display. The “Listen Together” music feature enables all passengers to jointly control playback progress. Personalization options are further enriched with several new naked-eye 3D pet-themed interfaces and fun mini-apps like the “Digital Wooden Fish” game. Vehicle-home connectivity sees significant expansion, now supporting remote control of eight categories of Midea smart home devices. The mobile ecosystem also gets upgraded: Samsung Galaxy devices running One UI 8.0 or later can use ICCOA Carlink to mirror their screens as floating windows on the car’s infotainment system; select OPPO, OnePlus, and realme models gain network sharing capability, allowing the car system to directly utilize the phone’s cellular data; Huawei devices with HarmonyOS 6.0 or higher now officially support HiCar Mirror Mode. Other practical enhancements include: dashcam Wi-Fi quick-sharing and five-angle recording triggered by parking events; expanded voice control to cover four-way steering wheel adjustment and multi-directional seat settings; new quick commands such as “Lead Vehicle Departure Alert,” “Left-Behind Item Reminder,” and “Auto Headlight Off When Parked”; optimized climate control logic where fan speed set to “0” automatically turns off the AC, and air purification can be triggered multiple times within a single power cycle; and revised driver welcome logic that removes gear-position restrictions, along with updated seat ventilation and heating strategies. Notably, this OTA introduces a considerate “Schedule Midnight Update” feature to avoid disrupting daily vehicle use. Eco-conscious users can also collect Ant Forest green energy points instantly via the Alipay Auto Lifestyle Mini Program, desktop widgets, or voice commands. Overall, this OTA significantly elevates the intelligent driving capabilities of the DENZA Z9 series while comprehensively advancing human-machine interaction, ecosystem integration, and nuanced user experience—further solidifying its competitive edge in the premium smart EV market.
