During the live stream titled "Lei Jun Takes Apart the New SU7," held on April 2, Lei Jun, founder, chairman, and CEO of Xiaomi, revealed that Xiaomi Auto is advancing a new initiative called the "Baise Project." This project will collaborate with professional automotive paint manufacturers to offer users a wider range of premium paint options featuring enhanced texture and more appealing colors. In this live stream, Xiaomi officially unveiled three new exterior color options for the latest-generation SU7: - **Capri Blue**: A distinctive, elegant, and pure sunlit blue; - **Indigo Green**: Shifts subtly between deep green and teal under varying lighting conditions—sophisticated yet understated; - **Charm Red**: Inspired by the hues of dawn’s first light, this vibrant shade exudes richness and dynamic energy. These new paints utilize an advanced 3C2B (three-coat, two-bake) painting process. The specific steps include: galvanized steel sheet → pre-treatment → electrophoretic anti-corrosion coating → stone-chip-resistant mid-coat → basecoat for color definition → clearcoat for protection and gloss. This process significantly enhances the paint’s brightness, scratch resistance, and overall premium feel. Meanwhile, Xiaomi Auto continues to accelerate its delivery pace. According to data previously released on Xiaomi Auto’s official Weibo account, monthly deliveries surpassed 20,000 units as of March 2026. Since the launch of deliveries for the new-generation SU7 on March 23, over 7,000 units have been delivered in just over ten days. Furthermore, since the debut of Xiaomi Auto’s first model on April 3, 2024, cumulative deliveries had already exceeded 600,000 units by February 2026. Notably, during a live stream in January this year, Lei Jun announced Xiaomi Auto’s full-year 2026 delivery target of 550,000 vehicles. Current progress indicates that Xiaomi is steadily ramping up production and delivery cadence, moving swiftly to fulfill its commitments to the market.
