In a recent 3.5-hour live-streamed vehicle teardown event, Xiaomi CEO Lei Jun personally unveiled multiple core technologies and design highlights of the new Xiaomi SU7. The broadcast comprehensively showcased real-vehicle features of both the SU7 Pro and Max variants and provided an in-depth disassembly of its robust configurations across exterior design, interior craftsmanship, electronic/electrical architecture, chassis systems, body safety, and battery pack. On the exterior, the new-generation SU7 employs an advanced 3C2B paint process, features dual-layer forged wheels, and includes refined details on the front bumper. Additionally, the vehicle integrates a new 4D millimeter-wave radar to further enhance its perception capabilities. Inside, the cabin adopts a symmetrical center console layout, soft-touch materials on door panels, significantly improved seat comfort, and an upgraded high-fidelity audio system with 25 speakers. Regarding intelligent architecture, the SU7 integrates a quad-in-one domain control module along with three zonal controllers and is equipped with a complete suite of ADAS hardware, laying a solid foundation for future smart driving experiences. The chassis—dubbed “Jiaolong Chassis,” independently developed by Xiaomi—features a double-wishbone front suspension and a five-link rear suspension. All trims come standard with 265mm-wide rear tires, balancing handling precision and ride comfort. Safety performance was a key focus of the teardown. The SU7’s body structure comprises 90.3% high-strength steel and aluminum alloys and comes standard with nine airbags. The battery pack utilizes Xiaomi’s proprietary “Titanium Alloy” die-cast components, reinforced with high-strength steel cross beams above the seats and protected underneath by an X-shaped beam and anti-scrape underbody cross members for multi-layer physical protection. Notably, the battery successfully passed nail penetration tests under fully charged, high-temperature conditions, demonstrating exceptional thermal safety. Market performance has been equally impressive: since its official launch on March 19, the Xiaomi SU7 achieved deliveries of over 7,000 units within just nine days, with locked orders surpassing 40,000 units—a new record for delivery speed in China’s new energy vehicle segment. User demographics reveal that 34% of initial owners are female, 60%–70% purchased the SU7 as an additional or replacement vehicle, and approximately 70% placed orders without comparing competing models. Furthermore, Xiaomi has officially become the title sponsor of China Touring Car Championship (CTCC). Its high-performance SU7 Ultra and the upcoming YU7 will serve as the series’ official Safety Car and Medical Car, respectively, further strengthening Xiaomi’s brand presence in professional motorsport arenas.
