Volvo Cars released its global sales figures for the first quarter of 2026 on April 2, reporting deliveries of 153,316 vehicles, an 11% decline compared to the same period last year. Despite the overall sales dip, the company made significant progress in its electrification transition: battery electric vehicles (BEVs) accounted for 23.7% of total sales, while plug-in hybrid electric vehicles (PHEVs) represented 23.6%, together comprising 47.3%—nearly half—of quarterly sales. This underscores Volvo’s continued advancement of its electrification strategy globally, with electric vehicles now forming a key component of its sales mix.
