FAW-Volkswagen released a video titled "Racing on Ice and Snow" on April 3, unveiling for the first time camouflaged spy shots of its new all-electric SUV. This vehicle is the first model in the ID. AURA series, built on Volkswagen’s new CEA (Centralized Electronic Architecture). It is scheduled to make its official debut on April 21, 2026, and launch in the second half of the same year. Despite heavy camouflage, the SUV’s new design language is discernible: it features square-shaped headlights with sharp lines at the front and a sleek, elongated profile with crossover styling on the sides. A roof-mounted LiDAR sensor is visible, indicating support for advanced driver-assistance functions. The vehicle will be equipped with a next-generation advanced intelligent driving solution developed by CARIZON—a joint venture between CARIAD China and Horizon Robotics—which will be progressively rolled out across new Volkswagen Group models starting in 2026.
