General Motors reported retail sales of approximately 350,000 vehicles in the Chinese market in the first quarter of 2024. The Buick brand’s new energy flagship MPV sold over 7,800 units during the quarter, with its MPV family now spanning segments from mainstream to ultra-luxury and covering both fuel-powered and new energy variants. Cadillac’s XT5 saw a 29% year-over-year increase in sales, while the CT5 continued its strong market performance. Wuling’s all-new seven-seat MPV, the Xingguang 730, and its first rugged-style SUV, the Xingguang 560, recorded sales exceeding 19,000 and 15,000 units, respectively. General Motors plans to unveil multiple intelligent electric models at the upcoming 2026 Beijing International Auto Show, including the Cadillac Celestiq full-size all-electric flagship SUV, the Buick Zhi Jing E7 large five-seat intelligent SUV, and the Baojun Hua Jing S large six-seat flagship SUV.
