The BYD Song Ultra EV launched on March 26, offering four trim levels priced between RMB 151,900 and RMB 179,900. It garnered a total of 37,216 orders in its first week on the market. All variants feature a rear-mounted, rear-wheel-drive layout and are available with two motor power outputs: 240 kW and 270 kW, delivering a top speed of 210 km/h. The entire lineup is equipped with BYD’s second-generation Blade Battery, offered in 75.6 kWh and 82.7 kWh capacities, providing CLTC-rated ranges of 605 km and 710 km respectively. The vehicle also features a 900V high-voltage architecture and Megawatt Flash Charging technology. Under ambient temperatures, charging from 10% to 70% takes just 5 minutes, and reaching 97% requires only 9 minutes; even at -30°C, charging time increases by merely 3 minutes. Measuring 4,850 mm long, 1,910 mm wide, and 1,670 mm tall, with a wheelbase of 2,840 mm, the Song Ultra EV offers a maximum trunk capacity of 1,659 liters and supports a “bed mode” configuration. Interior highlights include standard equipment across all trims such as a 15.6-inch central touchscreen, four-zone voice interaction, wireless smartphone charging, and over 20 other features. Higher-end variants add premium amenities including a “Queen’s Co-Pilot Seat,” an onboard refrigerator, and a 26-inch W-HUD (Windshield Head-Up Display). All models come standard with BYD’s proprietary Cloud Ride-C intelligent damping suspension system and the TBC High-Speed Blowout Stability Control system, which maintains vehicle stability even during a tire blowout at speeds up to 140 km/h.
