Jaguar has announced it will go "exclusively electric," ceasing development of any non-electric vehicle projects. The company is advancing an entirely new product lineup, with its first model—a four-door GT coupe standing approximately 55 inches (about 140 cm) tall—already in the final stages of development. The vehicle features a unique battery layout, with part of the battery pack positioned ahead of the lower structural components to maintain a low-slung silhouette without compromising range. This design achieves a drag coefficient of just 0.23, making it the most aerodynamic Jaguar in the brand’s history. During development, around 15,000 tests and adjustments were conducted to optimize the initial drag coefficient from 0.30 down to 0.23. Rawdon Glover, Managing Director of Jaguar, stated that the new model continues the brand’s tradition of defying conventions, offering a design language and driving experience significantly distinct from previous models—yet still preserving “the Jaguar feel.” All future Jaguars will maintain bold proportions and a cohesive design identity but will not enter the tall SUV segment, which is covered by Land Rover’s Range Rover lineup. The new car is expected to carry an average price in Europe exceeding €130,000 (approximately $150,000), targeting urban customers who value design, quality, and technology, possess independent taste, and seek distinctive self-expression. Glover acknowledged that the brand previously faced challenges including profitability issues, an aging customer base, and declining market relevance—prompting the decision to undertake a complete reboot rather than incremental updates. Jaguar recently held a brand relaunch event in Miami, sparking global social media buzz for three consecutive days—but also leading to initial narrative misalignment. The team is now refocusing public attention by providing detailed explanations of the car’s engineering and dynamic performance. Jaguar plans to gradually reveal more information about driving dynamics, interior design, and production-spec details. The company confirmed that all future Jaguar models will be fully electric, with a targeted range of approximately 435 miles (around 700 km), aiming to alleviate range anxiety. In addition to the four-door GT, Jaguar is simultaneously developing a complete product portfolio and has already progressed into the next phase of technical development.
