The Qingdao Municipal Bureau of Industry and Information Technology, the Development and Reform Commission, and seven other departments jointly issued the "Qingdao Automotive Industry Stabilization and Growth Work Plan," which sets a target for the city’s total vehicle production to stabilize at around 1 million units by 2026, including 450,000 new energy vehicles (NEVs). The plan emphasizes addressing critical gaps in core components such as the "three electric" systems (battery, motor, and electronic control), automotive chips, and intelligent cockpits. The plan outlines the advancement of 57 automotive industry projects, each with investments exceeding RMB 100 million. Among these, 16 projects—representing a total investment of RMB 14.2 billion—are scheduled for completion and full-scale production by 2025, expected to generate an additional RMB 12.8 billion in output value by 2026. Additionally, there are 28 ongoing projects with a combined investment of RMB 15.8 billion; 27 of these are projected to be completed by 2026, adding another RMB 13.5 billion in output value once fully operational.
