British sports car manufacturer Marcos is planning a return to the market. The brand, with nearly 70 years of history, has faced bankruptcy multiple times. Howard Nash has now acquired all rights and assets of Marcos and is spearheading its revival. Nash has already test-driven a prototype named the Mosquito. Weighing approximately 1,500 pounds (about 680 kg) and powered by a 300-horsepower drivetrain, the car is built using suspension, engine, and transmission components from the Mini. Due to positive feedback, Marcos may put it into limited production as a track-focused model, featuring styling reminiscent of the classic Mini Marcos. Additionally, Marcos is developing an entirely new mid-engine sports car, with both road-going and track versions planned in parallel. This vehicle weighs around 1,400 pounds (about 635 kg) and produces roughly 250 horsepower. A fully functional rolling chassis has already been completed, and the car is expected to debut later this year. The company currently employs about 46 people. In addition to the brand name, Nash has legally secured the original logo and all intellectual property rights through formal legal proceedings. Marcos now has the capability to manufacture new car components, provide engineering services, restore classic models, and supply spare parts. It also maintains complete production records for nearly 4,000 vehicles built throughout its history.
