On the afternoon of April 5, a single-vehicle collision involving an XPeng car occurred in Guangyuan, Sichuan, resulting in injuries to two occupants. Following the incident, XPeng personnel promptly arrived at the scene to assist in rescue efforts and provided necessary support to the injured individuals and their families. The vehicle doors were functional and could be opened normally; however, based on professional judgment, firefighters performed controlled dismantling of the car body to ensure the safety of the occupants. XPeng stated that it has preserved relevant evidence regarding certain individuals who have circulated misleading information—using phrases such as “completely crushed” and “totally disintegrated”—based on photos of the dismantled vehicle, thereby spreading false narratives and misleading the public. The company emphasized it will pursue legal accountability accordingly. XPeng also reaffirmed its commitment to assisting the customer with follow-up matters and reminded drivers to prioritize road safety.
