On March 26, 2026, Geely Auto and Unisoc held a signing and unveiling ceremony for their Joint Innovation Laboratory at the Geely Auto Research Institute in Ningbo. The two companies announced deep collaboration across four key areas: First, they will jointly define next-generation intelligent cockpit systems and edge-side AI chips, leveraging Geely’s expertise in intelligent cockpits and in-vehicle AI, combined with Unisoc’s technological strengths in chips, computing, and software. Second, they will co-develop integrated vehicle-cloud product applications, including next-generation automotive 5G solutions that meet requirements for communication speed, latency, and stability, while being compatible with multiple mass-produced vehicle models to support Geely’s global strategy. Third, they will jointly build integrated cockpit-and-driving chip, module, and full-system solutions, accelerate mass production cooperation, and integrate industry resources to create an open ecosystem. Fourth, they will deepen collaboration across the automotive chip supply chain by establishing a product validation platform to facilitate the implementation of chip solutions, and conduct joint research in areas such as EDA, IP, wafer fabrication, and packaging and testing, aiming to build a secure, stable, and efficient automotive chip industry ecosystem.
