On April 7, Xiaomi Auto released a clarification regarding the "Xiao Ai" in-car intelligent assistant's smartphone left-behind reminder feature. This feature is activated only when all three of the following conditions are met simultaneously: the vehicle is in Park (P) gear; a passenger opens the door on the side where the phone is located and exits the vehicle; and the phone is placed on an in-car charging device and successfully connected to the vehicle’s infotainment system. Compatible charging devices include the wireless charging pads for both driver and front passenger seats, as well as the in-car wireless charging phone holder. Once triggered, Xiao Ai will issue a voice alert, and a notification will pop up on the central infotainment display to help prevent the driver from leaving their phone behind.
