Data released on April 7 by Germany's Federal Motor Transport Authority (KBA) showed that battery electric vehicle (BEV) registrations in Germany reached 70,663 units in March 2024, a year-on-year increase of 66.2%, surpassing gasoline car registrations for the first time in the same period. Gasoline car registrations totaled 66,959 units that month, down 4.9% year-on-year, while diesel vehicle registrations declined slightly by 0.6% year-on-year. The data indicates that BEVs have become the primary driver of growth in Germany's automotive market.
