GAC Trumpchi E8 Revealed: 1.5T PHEV, Optional LiDAR, 7-Seater

The GAC Trumpchi E8 appeared in the latest batch of vehicle type approval listings published by China's Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) on April 9. The vehicle features an all-new exterior design, offers a seven-seat configuration, and is powered by a 1.5T plug-in hybrid powertrain, with an optional LiDAR system available. Exterior highlights include a full-width light bar at the front, complemented by a trapezoidal grille adorned with chrome accents below. The roof supports optional LiDAR installation, and the doors are equipped with conventional mechanical door handles. The vehicle measures 5,000 mm in length, 1,900 mm in width, and 1,778 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 3,000 mm. At the rear, another full-width light bar is featured, enhanced with vertical lighting elements to improve visual recognition. Under the hood, the E8 is equipped with a 1.5T engine (model code 4A15J4) delivering a maximum output of 125 kW, paired with a lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery pack.
