On April 10, Tesla CEO Elon Musk confirmed via social media that only a few hundred new Model S and Model X vehicles remain in available inventory—approximately 295 Model S units and about 301 Model X units—primarily located in the United States, Canada, and Europe. He also advised interested customers to place their orders as soon as possible. Previously, during the Q4 earnings call with analysts on January 28, Musk stated that production of both models would cease by the end of the second quarter. The Model S began deliveries in Q2 2012, while the Model X started deliveries in Q3 2015, meaning both vehicles have been on the market for over a decade. According to reports, combined deliveries of the Model S and Model X surpassed 610,000 units during their production runs.
