A prototype of the BMW iX5 M70 was recently spotted during road testing, equipped with 23-inch wheels and tires sized 295/35ZR23 at the front and 315/35ZR23 at the rear. The tire sidewalls are marked with "Michelin Pilot Sport S6"—a model not yet officially launched. The new tire is expected to feature a more aggressive semi-slick compound than the Pilot Sport S5, specifically optimized for track driving. The braking system includes large-diameter drilled discs, with front calipers featuring at least a six-piston design. Powering the vehicle is expected to be a next-generation electric motor delivering a maximum output of no less than 650 horsepower and peak torque of approximately 1,100 N·m (811 lb-ft)—surpassing both the combustion-powered X5 M60i’s 523 hp and the X5 M’s 617 hp.
